You Really Should: Beautylicious in Bloor-Yorkville

This year the area of Bloor and Yorkville is celebrating the 8th annual Beautylicious, the only premiere event of its kind inspired by the bi-annual Summerlicious/Winterlicious dining events, where over 50 participating businesses offer prix fixe beauty and wellness packages. If you are not already excited, I ask you to re read the sentence above because PRIX FIXE BEAUTY PACKAGES!!! Now that you are intrigued let me divulge all the details about how wonderful this event is.

From October 20th to the 30th some of the prestige hotels, spas and salons as well as luxury stores offer some of their signatures services at discounted prix fixe price points of $30, $50, $75 and $125. This really is the perfect way to try out that service you have been considering or the perfect excuse to treat yourself and feel great because of the discounted rate. Packages are available in three categories: Salon (hair colour/cut and style), Spa/Medi (massage/facial and mani/pedi) and Health&Wellness (nutrition services, dental, acupuncture, fitness and non invasive procedures). These packages at amazing price points are not available any other time of year so I cannot stress enough the reasons why you should take advantage.

With so many amazing packages to choose from I wanted to share with you my experience with one of my favourite brands/shops in the Bloor Yorkville area, L'Occitane en Provence. I have always loved L'Occitane en Provence, from their use of high quality ingredients, their incredibly knowledgeable in store staff, to their wide variety of products that address so many needs, to the fact that I always feel like I have returned to Provence whenever I walk in store. I was fortunate enough to do the $75 offering of a Mini Facial. This offering was ideal for me because my skin is incredibly sensitive and usually reacts poorly to facials but this mini facial meant that many of the processes that cause that poor reaction would not happen and it also meant that my entire experience was done within 30 minutes, making it easy for me to attend. When I arrived I was kindly greeted by L'Occitane staff and introduced to Selina who would be giving me my facial. As I said before, one of the things I love most about L'Occitane is how knowledgeable their staff is and Selina did not disappoint. After the facial I would get to choose both a cleanser and moisturizer making the experience much more than a facial as it was also like a skincare consultation, something that we all need at this time of year with the change in seasons. Selina, using a special tool, established quickly that I have dry skin and assured me that she would find the perfect products to address all the needs that come with that. While I sipped my lemon tea Selina grabbed the products that she would be using for my facial; she selected a cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream as well as a moisturizer and explained to me all the benefits of these products and the needs of my skin they would address. I really appreciated the time Selina spent doing this, I think skin care education is so important and the products were all from different lines so I would have never known to have selected them myself. Once the facial began I felt very relaxed, the aromas of L'Occitane products are luxurious and soothing and the aromachology benefits are immense. Selina continued with the educational piece, explaining how to apply each product and why, also allowing me to replicate the soothing nature of a mini facial at home.

After my mini facial was done I selected both my cleanser and moisturizer, both of which Selina had used. I was super excited to bring these full sized products home and will integrate the Immortelle Precious Cleansing Foam and Immortelle Precious Cream in my daily beauty routine. If I had purchased these products individually the cost would have been $95 but because of Beautylicious both products and the mini facial were only $75! I left feeling rejuvenated and cannot recommend that you take advantage of Beautylicious and feel the same way enough, with the event wrapping up on the 30th now is definitely the time to pick your package at your preferred business and schedule a time.
