Like most of my friends, after fashion, I love interiors and home decor. I love furniture, I love art and I love how an interior can tell a story and while an outfit can introduce a person an interior can tell the history of a person.

My personal style is crafted through my time spent in France, the women of my family and women in history whom I admire. My home decor style has been crafted in kind of the same way. All the pieces I am drawn to aesthetically I can trace back to a time, person or place in my own personal journey.

I love architecture that is best described as french, like those bright and white parisian apartments you dream of waking up in and strolling down the Champs Elysee. As much as I love those white, airy spaces I think the best way to fill them is with pieces that tell a story, pieces with mixed textiles and gorgeous woods that transport you to where they originated from. I used to think that the only way to achieve the look I wanted in my mind was through scouring online and flea markets, searching in vain for that ideal piece I had in mind. I then came across Artemano and it felt like someone had read my mind.

I discovered Artemano through Instagram. Artemano specializes in modern and contemporary exotic solid wood furniture and home décor, but it is more than just furniture. With stores in Montreal, Laval, Brossard, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto, Heartland and Vaughan, their roots are in Canada, but their inspiration took shape in faraway lands. From the Rosewood and Mango wood of India to the Suar and Teak of Thailand to the recycled woods of Indonesia; ranging from repurposed railway tracks to reclaimed planks of wood from old fishing boats. They LOVE wood. And they love that each and every unique piece has a story to tell. They share these stories. With love.
