Just Breathe. Not you, your shoes....well you can too, we all need it, but have your feet ever experienced it? I am not getting all phillisophical on you here just very excited about the technology found in Geox Shoes and now, Geox Outerwear.

This week I was invited to visit the newly opened Geox store in the renovated wing of Sherway Gardens here in Toronto. I was familliar with the Geox brand through their ads in magazines about breathing shoes, which often left me wondering how? And do your feet get wet? This is Canada afterall and we have all experienced wet feet before and surely breathable shoes might make this more susceptible. I could not have been more wrong, but I'll get back to that soon.

When I first went into the store I loved it's bright and airy space, it's an ideal showroom to showcase the amazing fashion and footwear Geox has. The Italian brand creates stylish products designed to enhance your daily life, through technical innovations that offer breathability, durability and protection from the elements. I love the style that Geox offers, through classic design and superior craftsmanship, Geox is showcasing its European heritage and aesthetic. The luxury is in the quality of the product itself.

With Fall well underway and Winter fast approaching I was excited to get a pair of boots from Geox. I started to scope out the store as I thought I knew what I was looking for but, I was easily distracted by the variety. From high heels, block heels, no heels, flats and some of the coolest sneakers I have ever seen-I was at a loss. I narrowed it down to a couple of pairs, a flat Chelsea boot that looked like they were meant to be worn into or a classic rounded almond toe, block heel bootie called the Trish that I could see myself being able to wear with so many of this season's biggest fashion trends.

I ended up going with the Trish. I was sold on how they looked with my tights and skirt that day and couldn't wait to throw them on with everything from boyfriend jeans or a maxi dress.

As beautiful as these black leather boots are, what's even more impressive is the technology that goes into them. Not only are my Trish Booties a part of the breathable footwear line from Geox they are also a part of the Amphibiox by Geox collection, translation: perfect for Canadian weather! The Amphibiox line has the breathable technology of all Geox shoes allowing your feet to not overheat and repells water from the sole and upper part of the shoe, keeping your feet nice and try all while perfectly thermally insulated for when the temperatures drop. It was explained to me that in Italy where they design these innovations at the Geox headquarters, their building breathes by the way(seriously), they have machines that simulate a shoes walking through water to thouroughly test and meet the high quality standard of the brand.

Along with the beautiful new store at Sherway Gardens, Geox currently has a Pop Up Shop featuring exclusive pieces form their outerwear collection that you are unable to get any where else. In the new Geox locations they offer a selection of their outerwear for both men and women, all featuring the same level of attention to detail and innovative technology found in their footwear. Too often in the winter we bundle ourselves up in heavy but warm jackets for the cooler temperatures only to find ourselves overheated, struggling to find the proper balance.

Geox has translated the breathability of their footwear into their jackets without compromising the style or quality in withstanding the elements. I picked out my top three jackets at the Pop Up and wanted to share them with you. First up was this Down Jacket made of ultralight technical nylon, water repellent and wind resistant. Paired with bouclé wool, it is also padded with 90/10 goose down. I like how the jacket was long enough to keep my core and bottom covered while not adding bulk, the mix of materials is completely unique and the heardwear added some edge.

This navy blue peacoat was an unexpected favourite. I have worn many peacoats over the years but this one had a fresh update with its structure and monochrome detailing contrasted with complimentary orange. Made of Cardo fabric, a blend of wool and nylon, paired with breathable 100% polyester Spacer, it's the perfect piece for the mid-season. I felt like a part of the jet set and needed to go travel, maybe to the Italian Geox Headquarters?

Finally I loved this moto inspired-cut down jacket. It's slim fit and ability to wear open collar makes it perfect to wear with the of the moment blanket scarf. This jacket is perfect for weekend wear and is equal parts sporty and fashion. In speaking with the associate at the Pop Up Shop she explained to me how limited some of these jackets are. Many of them only have a few of each size and style in North America-ensuring you won't look like everyone else on the street in "that jacket" everyone else has-but also meaning you need to rush to the Pop Up Shop sooner than later to ensure the best selection, it's only here until December 31st

Rarely do fashion and technological innovations in fashion meet without being at the expense of the other. Geox has found a way to combine the two, offering the cool edge of effortless European style, completely unique to the North American market. Popular amongst many European bloggers, I don't think it will be long until the same will be said for here. I highly recommend you make your way to the Geox Pop Up Shop and checkout all they have to offer, share your picks and let me know with the hashtag #GEOXPopUp !
