With Canadians celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend Lululemon wants to share it's gratitude for our home and Native land.

Lululemon is celebrating 17 years in Canada. Started out west in British Columbia, Lululemon has moved across the country elevating the communities where they have their stores, sharing their love of yoga, sport and sweat and taking their Canadian pride worldwide and though some may forget the company's Canadian roots, they're as Canadian as Sunday Caesars, powerplays and saying sorry.
Founded in Vancouver in 1998, Lululemon has grown to have 49 stores across our great nation and 250 around the globe. They have a global team of ambassadors around the world with 475 right here in Canada. These ambassadors are busy setting and attaining their goals be that on the mat, in the rink or along the slopes all while testing Lululemon's product and teaching weekly free yoga and fitness classes in all of Lululemon's stores and cross country events.
During the month of October Lululemon is celebrating it's Canadian roots with OM Canada. Hosting events across the country and they want you to be there! Check out your regional Lululemon Facebook page for more information about the all-Canadian things happening in your community.
Something that I have always believed to be "very Canadian" is Canada's willingness to help others and make our nation better for the many and not the few. Lululemon through partnerships with multiple grass roots organisations has made this a part of who they are, by getting involved in the communities where they have their stores and working alongside community leaders and game changers.

Coinciding with all this celebration of their Canadian roots Lululemon is partnering with the Toronto based Peace Collective, sound familliar? This isn't the first time they've worked together, read about that here. Like Lululemon, Peace Collective is a Canadian Lifestyle brand that has the same deep commitment to elevating community. Together they've designed a limited edition, Canadian inspired capsule collection to celebrate and give back. The "Home is Here" line is available exclusively in their Canadian stores and on their website. Partial proceeds from the sales will benefit Breakfast for Learning, Canada's first established and one of the largest national charities dedicated to educating and empowering communities to create and sustain school-based nutrition programs and helping children and youth realize their full potential in life.

I was stoked when Lululemon let me in on this amazing initiative and celebration of Canada. I grew up in a family that placed a high value on education and love for our country (my parents were Canadian history teachers). I was fortunate enough to have food in my belly when I went to school and was encouraged by educators and the community to achieve my full potential. I am forever grateful for this as I believe this has attributed to much of what I have achieved in my life and I hope that all children will be given the base that I had, sadly though I know many do not. It is through organisations like Breakfast for Learning that these gaps that divide children are filled and allows children to focus on their learning and not their hunger.

This collection, simply put is pretty awesome. When I wore my tank outside I had people stop and ask where I got it and others simply smile because as humble as we are as Canadians we do love all that our Country has to offer and should be excited with all of what we can potentially achieve as one. Home is Here. A country founded by immigrants and with the strength of the Native peoples, at some point or another we have all chose for our Home to be Here.
The last time Lululemon and Peace Collective collaborated on a Toronto capsule collection to coincide with the Pan Am games the collection sold fast and was loved by many. With this time of gratitude and the holiday season fast approaching I highly recommend you jump online or to your nearest Lululemon store (I always feel better after having walked into one of their stores) and grab a piece of this celebration of Home for yourself and a loved one. Not only do you get to humble brag about the great Nation you call home but you are also supporting the potential of our future through Breakfast for Learning.
