End of Summer Vibes

By the time August comes around Summer has begun to wind down, the Fall fashion starts to fill the stores and magazines, the ever lasting feeling of a new beginning starts to creep up on you after years of school and you know it's almost time to put away the cut offs and sandals. This is when I start to sort through my wardrobe and put away the pieces I won't be wearing any longer and get the last days out of my favourites.

I have always had a love for bohemian style juxtaposed with classic pieces, I love Eastern influences and the vibrant colours and beautiful metals unique to them. Over the years I have always done my best to buy authentic pieces. There are so many skilled artisans in this world and they deserve to be compensated for their work, not ripped off of. In our fast fashion world it's so easy to buy replicas and look a likes for a lot less but the quality and stories behind the unique treasures you can find are incomparable to anything else.

The two tassel necklaces I am wearing were given to me by the amazing Zacasha. Zacasha is a beautiful business started by designer Jennifer Belcourt, after settling in Bali Jennifer began crafting traditional Balinese tassel necklaces mixing different techniques and materials from each island all while staying true to her style. The quality of these necklaces is unlike anything I have seen in other tassel necklaces, the beads dazzle in the light and the tassles are luxuriously silky, my favourite part though is the silver elephant charm. Elephants have always been my favourite animal but what makes them so meaningful to me is how they come into my life. Over the years ithout me ever saying anything, elephant necklaces, charms, statues have all been given to me during some of the hardest times in my life.

As Summer starts to wind down and you begin to tuck away your Summer clothing start wearing your favourites and enjoy the bright sunny days and warm long nights before they're gone.
