British Invasion: Charlotte Tilbury is Coming!

Charlotte Tilbury has been taking the beauty world by storm for the last 20 years and in the last few has been solidifying herself as a force to be reckoned with.

As a young girl Charlotte grew up in Ibiza with creative parents and was surrounded with artists, musicians and actors. Like most little girls Charlotte was entranced by the women in her life and the "effect a beautiful woman had entering a room and wanted to understand her secret weapon." At the age of 13 she discovered mascara and says that she felt the transformative power of make up and has been hooked ever since.

She knew she was going to do something creative with her life but it was not until she met the inspirational Mary Greenwell that she decided to train at the Glauca Rossi School of Make-up. From there Charlotte began her rise through the industry. Building a network in her formative years during the Supermodel era of 1990s with her peers, photographers, stylists and yes supermodels; Charlotte was laying down the foundation for what was yet to come.

I was fortunate enough to get to preview some of the Charlotte Tilbury collection before its upcoming launch here in Canada at Holt Renfrew. I have been eagerly awaiting her launch in Canada and have been following her through fashion magazines and celebrity red carpet appearances for some time. I can without a doubt say I have never been so blown away and amazed with a recent luxury make up launch.

The thought and precisison that has gone into this line is like nothing I have ever seen before and you can tell that only someone like Charlotte, the world's number one make up artist, could have created it.

When I opened the beautiful vintage inspired brown eyshadow quad I was in awe, every inch of the compact had been thought out from the gorgeous rose gold metal to the little star in the top right corner of the mirror.

I got the The Uptown Girl palette, Billy Joel song stuck in my head, which is fitting for The Blond Champagne. The colours would be flattering on almost all complexions and offers a wide variety of ways to go form day to night or as Chralotte says, Desk-Dusk-Disco.

The palette is colour coded for fool-proof application and the beautiful colours are so incredibly harmonious that you cannot go wrong and will become a makeup staple. Charlotte really did create an EASY TO USE make up quad that will leave you irresistible.

Having worked with as many celebrities as Charlotte has, many of her K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lippies are shades created for her clients that have been admired on the red carpet. Penelope Cruz has always been a woman I have deeply admired for her fierce and uncompromising confidence in her work and beauty. If I could be any celebrity for a day it would probably be her, so to my joy I got the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Penelope Pink, Fallen From the Lipstick Tree Lipstick.

This lipstick feels like butter on the lips, it goes on smoothly and is a beautiful creamy texture while still infusing the rich pigment of the colour. It is anti-oxidant filled offering your lips protection from both UV and external pollution allowing your lips to stay cashmere soft, leaving an irresistible lasting impression. I can't wait to use this colour long into my summer nights and expanding my liptick wardrobe with more of the gorgeous colours Charlotte offers.

Charlotte Tilbury has created a line that is a make up lover's dream but that truly is for every woman. Her attitude of celebrating a woman's beauty and encourgaing women to find strength through make up is empowering and refreshing. I am very excited that all of her products will now be available in Canada at Holt Renfrew and encourage you to make it to a store and experience it for yourself. Because really, who doesn't want a piece of the glamour from the Charlotte Tilbury world.
